Angel 101 with Greater Colorado Venture Fund - Hybrid Event
Limited Capacity seats available

For angel investing, having the correct fundamentals from day one is crucial.  It can be the difference between a lucrative way to support your local business community or an expensive hobby.

Having seen hundreds of startups in communities all over the world, Spencer Ingram and Jamie Finney will help you develop your strategy for investing in local Colorado startups. Moderating by Jason Veatch of Southern Colorado Angels, they'll cover questions like:

- How many companies should I be investing in?
- What should my return expectations be?
- What are other angels in my area investing in?
- How do I know I'm getting into good deals?
- Do I have to choose between profits or impact?

Support Southern Colorado startups. Don't make the classic angel investing mistakes.

In-person and online attendance options available.

Limited Capacity seats available

Communities all over the U.S. promote the benefits of their Live Work Play business environments. It's a common attention-grabbing claim meant to inspire and recruit businesses and families to a community. Like good business marketing in general, however, effective marketing requires differentiating oneself from others. Live Work Play? So what? How does our pace and style of life contribute to the success of Fremont County startups and our economy overall. This session explores our unique Live Work Play environment and what it means to businesses and remote workers who choose Fremont County.

Sustainability - Planned infrastructure initiatives, Housing Initiatives, Broadband, Vision, etc.
Limited Capacity seats available

Once a vibrant center of commerce for regional mining communities, Fremont County suffered from an economic shift to front range commerce. Creating economic vitality in a rural community often requires overcoming potentially years of economic neglect. Attracting and creating new industry sectors requires initiatives to create and boost infrastructure and modernize antiquated processes. This session highlights some of the initiatives that are underway or in planning to enable and encourage economic growth.

Florian or what he is more commonly known as "FLO" is an Asian Immigrant, Veteran, Entrepreneur and Business Mentor. Flo immigrated from the Philippines when he was around 10 years old. He's from a single-mother household that struggled financially. Flo did not have the means to attend college so he enlisted in the Air Force right out of high school. He later attended the US Air Force Academy and served 21 years in the Air Force's Nuclear, Space, and Cyber Warfare operations. After his military retirement, he had a short 3-year stint as a defense contractor for NORAD/USNORTHCOM and US Space Force before becoming a full time business owner and entrepreneur.

Flo has multiple businesses ranging from real estate investing, IT/telecommunications services, educational tutoring franchise called Huntington Learning Center, and his latest acquisition, Power Media Group which owns KPPF radio station and the Power Talk 1040 news/talk format. His goal is to provide the local community the best value / lower cost access to traditional media platforms for branding, advertising, and promotions of their causes. In 2022, Flo partnered with Mountain Radio Group that is operating three radio stations, three radio formats: new/talk, country and classic rock, and eight transmitters with an area covering 2.1 million people from Southern Denver to Pueblo.

Flo is on the board of several nonprofits ranging from the Rampart Chapter of the US Air Force Academy Association of Graduates, Vice President of the board for Eastlake High School, and senior advisor for the Golden Lotus Foundation. The Golden Lotus Foundation has recently partnered with Colorado Springs to build an Asian Heritage Center, Chinese Tea House, and Asian botanical gardens on one of its parks (1819 W Cheyenne Rd, Broadmoor area, 80906). Flo is heading the planning and development of the entire project with Golden Lotus Foundation's founder Cynthia Aki.
